Fruit and nut crumble

Serve this fruit and nut crumble with custard or condensed milk, or perhaps a little fresh cream on special occasions.

What you will need:

  • 150 g fresh or frozen berries
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • For the nut crumble
  • 60 g plain flour
  • 60 g soya spread
  • 60 g porridge oats
  • 25 g crushed brazil nuts, chopped
  • 45 g sugar
  • 10 g flaked almonds (optional)
  •  

Method:

1. Preheat the oven

  • 200oC for a conventional oven or 180oC for a fan oven

2. Combine the fruit and sugar 

  • Put in an ovenproof dish
  • Sprinkle with sugar (optional)

3. Make the crumble topping

  • Mix the flour and spread together using your fingers until it resembles fine breadcrumbs,
  • Add in the oats, chopped nuts and sugar
  • Place on top of the fruit with some flaked almonds (optional)

4. Cook for 30 min or until the top is golden
